Info

Fiery rock n’ roll band Aloud is known for their two lead singers, tight male/female vocals, exceptionally strong songwriting, and energy-filled live performances. Lead vocalists/guitarists Jen de la Osa and Henry Beguiristain have been writing songs together since their early teens and have crafted the passionate rock n’ roll sound of Aloud with bassist Roy Fontaine and drummer Ross Lohr. The critically acclaimed foursome is based in Boston, MA and performs regularly throughout the East Coast and beyond.

Fan The Fury is Aloud’s sophomore album due out March 25, 2008 on the band’s own Lemon Merchant Records. The CD is the first release written by all four members of Aloud. Fan The Fury is an emotionally charged dichotomy of passionate rebellion and contemplative acceptance. Aloud delivers driving grooves and dynamic melodies wrapped up in themes of struggle, perseverance, injustice and love. From the frustrated anger of ‘Sometimes I Feel Like A Vampire’, and the hopeful anthem ‘Backs To The Wall’, to the weary but enlightened affirmation of ‘Justice & Forgiveness’, Fan the Fury is a twenty-somethings’ coming-of-age reflection on a not-so-perfect world. Aloud’s hooky melodies, strong pop songwriting sensibilities, and soaring vocal lines shine on ‘Fan The Fury’, a forceful rallying call to the downtrodden; ‘The Last Time’, an ode to loved ones separated by circumstance; and ‘When The Ants Attack The Queen’, a hard-rocking fantasy where the underprivileged reign victorious against an unjust status quo.

Aloud will be touring nationally this spring in support of Fan The Fury, including performances in the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest.

Aloud recorded Fan The Fury as a follow up to their 2006 release Leave Your Light On and their 2004 EP The Sooner It Comes. Listen to Aloud’s entire catalog and keep up with the most recent tour updates at www.allthingsALOUD.com.

Wow, really compelling vocals by both of you! Really soulful! Great changes on All I Can Do. The verse to Beaches is amazing, I wish the chorus had more of a pay off. Is the Bass player slapping in the verse, or does it just sound like that? Please don't slap on the Bass...PLEASE! I love the vibe you guys have created here, would love to see you play live.

I'm slightly biased for having heard "Beaches" before, but what a great fucking song. Singer's on some seriously next-level Beth Ditto soul kick, with a catch in her voice that reminds you how PJ Harvey hasn't put out a good record in a while. Some of the other material feels far less dynamic, and the bass player dude looks like Donna's dad from That '70s Show, no? But if the new stuff they mentioned in the blog is more of that "Beaches" garagey R&B -- and less power-grunge -- then I'm a believer.
